Being civil.
On March 17th, Brendan and I went to the Salt Lake County Clerk's Office and signed some papers. It saved us $300 a month in health care costs, and $100 a month in car insurance (apparently, marriage makes you a more responsible driver instantaneously). We figured it was more money for booze at our upcoming wedding celebrations, and neither of our immediate families seemed to mind us being pre-wed.

$80 and a signature. . .that's all it takes to get married in the state of Utah. That and a lifetime of love, patience, and gratitude. |
Sir, you sign here. |
Ma'am, you sign here. |
Sher signs that she saw us sign. |
Promise? |
Yup! |

Brendan looks a little stunned. Should I be worried? |
These flowers were dying on the dining room table. Yarn, bow, BAM! Bouquet. |
Heavenly. A moment alone before dinner with friends. |
Delicious meal at Eva in Salt Lake City. |
